Maps

Welcome!  The last map we printed was 2015, but there are some still available on Amazon if you like to collect and use "paper" maps (although our Groovy Map'n'Guides are laminated so they can't tear).

APOLOGY: Sorry Groovy Map fans!  We do apologize for not updating the Groovy Map'n'Guides anymore, but paper maps are nearly an extinct species.  We had 19 years of making and selling maps, and are proud of what we achieved with words, colors, symbols and our Groovy contribution to "Fun Mapped Out!"  Human map-making, wandering alleyways and marking things down, is an era that will be missed...

We once looked forward to the annual Frankfurt Book Messe (the largest print show in the world), where we would hob-nob and mix with the map-makers of the world (stiill only filling 1.5 ailses out of 10 buildings!), and meet 3rd generation cartographers, stars from National Geographic and Michelin, and quirky individuals of all types.

We had fun discovering our favorite venues in cities like Yangon and Ho Chi Minh, and Shanghai, back before tourists descended in mass to change the landscape.  I remember when...  the Shanghai bund was just opening up, and the Peace hotel offered shabby, overpriced rooms for 50 USD, there were no buildings lit up at night, and hutongs still occupied the area on the other side of the Bund (now dotted with 100 story buildings).

The best part of it all, of course, was that you could spend a week eating, drinking, and reviewing spas and cultural curiosities, and ALL of it, was written off as a legitimate company expense in researching a Groovy Map'n'Guide!  -- Aaron
